ASA International Law is thrilled to host Ellen Huang and her seminar on internships and jobs here at UvA. Ellen is a Canadian lawyer who has obtained her Juris Doctorate and LL.L, and specialises in international and common law. In addition to studying in Canada, she also spent some time at UvA participating in the United Nations International Student Conference in the PPLE College, focusing on the ICJ moot competition.
She has interned for law firms in Paris and Canada, worked as a research assistant in the Supreme Court of Canada, and has spent a year coaching students on job applications and cover letters. She is currently working for the Canadian Red Cross, where she started as a legal intern and is now an articling student. Having navigated the internship and job finding process herself, she is now keen to "give back" and guide current law students on the process.
