Secretary
Liam Ward
Born in the United States, Liam is taking the Transnational and European Private Law LLM at the UvA.
Liam holds a Bachelor in Arts specializing in the Pre-Law Track from Amsterdam University College, and an LLM in International and Transnational Criminal Law from the UvA. His favorite area of International Law is international arbitration.
A fun fact about Liam is that he plays for a local Dutch baseball club. His favorite TV shows are Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Arrested Development.
Treasurer
Patrick Robert Szabó
Born and raised Amsterdammer, Patrick is pursuing the International Trade and Investment Law LLM at the University of Amsterdam.
Patrick holds an LLB International Business Law from Leiden University, including an exchange year at King’s College London.
His favourite areas of International Law are Trade and Investment Law, with an emphasis on the contemporary challenges posed by environmental adaptation.
Fun facts about Patrick include that his elementary school is right in front of the Roeterseiland campus, and that he is a big Ajax and Szoboszlai fan! His favourite TV shows are Sopranos and The Wire.
Events Officer
Aleasha Sanchez-Lawson
Originally from Western Australia, Aleasha is now undertaking her LLM in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam.
Aleasha holds a Juris Doctor law degree with Distinction and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia.
Aleasha practised as a government lawyer in Australia where she worked on prosecutions, litigation and advice work for government agencies. She also volunteered for the Australian Red Cross for 4 years in the International Humanitarian Law Advisory Committee. Her favourite area of international law is international humanitarian law and she is also interested in counter-terrorism work.
Fun facts about Aleasha include that she has been skydiving in New Zealand & that she is half Filipino! Her favourite TV show is Greys Anatomy (which she is currently rewatching!).
PR Officer
Sabina Isabella Trușcă
From Bucharest, Romania, Sabina is now pursuing a LLM in International Trade and Investment Law at the University of Amsterdam.
Sabina holds a BA in European Studies from the University of Amsterdam, where she majored in EU Law and European Politics.
She has previously served on two other student association boards, namely SIB-Amsterdam and EESA-Amsterdam, as Commissioner of Marketing and Promotion and Secretary, respectively.
Her favorite areas of International Law are International Trade Law and International Human Rights Law.
A fun fact about Sabina is that, although she has been living in Amsterdam for over four years, she still does not know how to ride a bike.
Finally, her favorite TV show is Gossip Girl.
